How Linguette is made.

Linguette is designed and published by Strataic Ltd. We shape its learning experience, features and visual direction, with AI support for coding, course production and illustration.

How the course is produced

The French and Spanish lessons, exercises, translations and answer checks were written and reviewed using AI models, including Anthropic’s Claude. They have not yet been reviewed by a native speaker.

AI-generated teaching material can contain mistakes, including in grammar, translations and accepted answers. Automated checks help us improve the course, but do not replace expert language review. Check anything important with a trusted language reference or qualified teacher.

If you find an error, please tell us, including the language, lesson and wording. Strataic is responsible for the product and for responding to corrections.

Code and development

Strataic designs the app, directs its implementation and works through testing and refinement. OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Codex, and Anthropic’s Claude, are used to generate and revise code and supporting tools. Product decisions and responsibility for what ships remain with Strataic.

Pictures and illustrations

Scene, header, atlas and cover artwork was generated with ChatGPT image generation from OpenAI, under Strataic’s direction.

Dictionary pictures were generated locally on a Mac at Strataic using Python tools and Z-Image-Turbo from Tongyi Lab, through MFLUX and Apple’s MLX. The official model weights are released under the Apache 2.0 licence. The model runs during picture production and is not bundled with Linguette.

Other interface illustrations are drawn in code with AI assistance. Small system icons use Apple’s SF Symbols. Generated pictures are illustrations and may contain visual inaccuracies.

AI while you use the app

The prepared course is included with the app. Supported open-ended conversations use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models and can also make mistakes. The tools used to build Linguette are separate from those on-device features: crediting OpenAI or Anthropic here does not mean your practice is sent to them.
