Your practice stays yours.

Speech recognition, the tutor, the voices and translation run on your iPhone with Apple Intelligence. There is no account to create and nothing to sync. Your mistakes are nobody else’s business.

No account, no adverts, no analytics, no tracking.
Your voice is turned into text on the phone; recordings are never uploaded.
Works offline once your voices are downloaded. Your practice is processed on your phone. Backups and exports go only where you choose, including your normal iPhone backups.
Export a backup you control, or delete your data in Settings.

Who designed Linguette, and how was it built?

Linguette is designed by Strataic and built with AI support. We shape the features and experience, direct implementation, and work through testing and refinement. AI tools help produce and revise code, content and illustrations. The course material is generated and reviewed using AI, so mistakes can occur. Read about the process, course review and credits.

Which iPhones does it work on?

Lessons, listening, verbs, review and the dictionary work on any iPhone with iOS 26. Open-ended conversations need Apple Intelligence enabled on a supported iPhone. Prepared rehearsals and checked lesson conversations work without it. See what works where.

Do I need to be online?

No. Once the language’s voices and speech model are downloaded, lessons and conversations work offline.

Is it for complete beginners?

Yes. The A1 course starts from hello. If you already know some French or Spanish, take the level test and start where it suggests.

Which Spanish does it teach?

Castilian Spanish, as spoken in Spain, with vosotros. The course notes where Latin American Spanish differs.

Can I move my progress to a new iPhone?

Yes. Your iPhone backup brings it across, or make a Linguette backup file in Settings and restore it on the new phone, even before you set it up.
